TRINITY VENTURES CONTINUES COMMITMENT TO ENTREPRENEURS-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM WITH TWO ADDITIONS
Amy Errett and Nick Mehta Join With Focus on Digital Media, Internet Services and Datacenter Markets
MENLO PARK, Calif. (October 16, 2007) Continuing its commitment to working with leading entrepreneurs, early-stage venture capital firm Trinity Ventures today announced the addition of two entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIR) who bring domain expertise in the digital media, Internet services and datacenter markets. Amy Errett and Nick Mehta are the latest EIRs to join the Trinity team.
"Trinity is committed to building world-class organizations through a hands-on and collaborative approach. We engage the entire partnership in each and every deal and manage our board commitments to ensure we provide the highest quality of service and attention to our portfolio companies," said Gus Tai, general partner at Trinity. "Likewise, through our EIR program, entrepreneurs have broad access to all of Trinity's resources to help form new ventures. Network Alchemy (acquired by Nokia), Affinity Labs and Amalfi Semiconductor are examples of successful investments stemming from Trinity's EIR program. And Bill Rossi, former GM/VP of Cisco's wireless business, was the most recent EIR to complete the program. Today we welcome Nick and Amy as the newest additions to our team."
Amy Errett most recently served as CEO of the web property Olivia.com. Errett transformed the ecommerce travel company into a leading affinity lifestyle media company through aggressive marketing, product development and partnerships, growing revenues from $6M to an expected $25M in 2007. A former Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Northern California, Errett also founded The Spectrem Group, a M&A advisory firm sold to NFO Worldwide (NYSE: NFOW), and was a senior management team member at E*Trade.
Nick Mehta has spent the past five years at Symantec Corporation, most recently as Vice President of Product Management, Information Foundation. There, Mehta was responsible for revenue across all email, instant messaging and web-related businesses. As General Manager, he specifically led the growth of the Enterprise Vault email archiving and discovery product line from $23M to $200M during 2004-2007. Prior to Symantec, Mehta led product management for Xdegrees, a software startup acquired by Microsoft. He co-founded ChipShot.com, an online golf retailer, while a senior at Harvard College.
Errett will focus on digital media, Internet services and e-commerce. Mehta will concentrate on next-generation datacenter, enterprise 2.0 and communications technologies and services.
